Welcome! The 2021-22 school year will be my twelfth year teaching English and tenth year at Loogootee High School. I am very proud to be a part of such a great school with strong academic excellence. I graduated from Indiana University in 2009 where I received a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education- English. In 2019, I received a master's degree in Learning and Technology through Western Governors University. I also completed 18 credit hours of graduate courses through Oakland City University in order to gain the credentialing to teach dual-credit courses.
My husband, Aaron, and I live in Jasper with our three year old daughter, Amelia, one year old son, Auggie, and 8 month old rescue pup, Arthur. I enjoy all things reading and writing (no surprise there), as well as the outdoors, live music, cooking, and being active.
My classroom's goal is for all of my students to become better readers, writers, thinkers, speakers, and people.
I have extremely high expectations of all my students, and for that I will not apologize. I am asking for your help to maintain those expectations by checking with your son/daughter periodically to make sure that his/her work is being done. I am available to help students individually before school, during my prep period (1st period), and after school. Again, please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions. I know what a large role parents play in their child’s life and thank you in advance for your support. I welcome your input and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or through the school at 812.295.3254, ext. 441.
